Organ mass on egg yolk

    We checked everywhere and can't seem to find an answer. Yesterday, I cracked open an egg and saw this strange growth that resembles an organ attached to the egg yolk. Any clues?[​IMG]

    I get those from time to time.
    Probably a meat spot which is small piece of oviduct.
    Just remove it from the bowl with the tip of a butter knife.
    Perfectly safe egg to eat.

    Yes, that's a meat spot - part of the oviduct sloughed off when the white was being added to the egg.

    I occasionally see them, and remove it before cooking the egg. IMO don't be concerned unless you continue to see large meat spots regularly.

    I know it's okay to eat because chicken folks say so, but, I am the squeamish type so [​IMG] not me!!
