I've got myself a buff orpington. doesnt look like a cockeral that i can see. the hair thing could just be growing slower than usual. trust me shes going to get huge. however they do grow slower than some other chickens. have fun and good luck!

How old? Just a few weeks?
What other thread did you post on?

It takes some times to get their feathering, and they can look mighty bare, bald, and scraggly for months.
Strong color in combs and and wattle growth by 5-6 weeks usually shows the cockerels.

We think they are around 5 weeks, when we got them we were told they were 6-8 but that turned out not to be true

This is the two I'm worried about.
I posted on an Orpington thread, getting mixed views.
Good to know his \ her feathering seems to be normal across the board :)
