Looking for some help in determining the sex of my chicks that were hatched one 11/21/2015. Also if you could provide some tips on learning how to sex on my own I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

Most early signs of males begin to show at about 6 to 8 weeks old. Any chick that starts to turn red in the comb before 12 weeks old is male.

It's too young to tell, sorry! Try reposting pics in another 1-2 months.

    x2 on this.

  6. Yes, most, but some breeds like Wyandottes are harder to tell at that age too. If you can stand to wait until they are 11-12 weeks to ask, you'll get the most accurate answers.

Thanks everyone! I was just curious since I am already getting comments on majority being cockerels and I was wondering how everyone came to that conclusion. I normally wait until I can tell the difference but was looking for other tips and tricks that I may not be aware of on identifying at such a young age.

You're welcome. Anyone telling you a specific gender at that age is just guessing.)
