Orpington chicks- 95% black!

Hi all

We are new to breeding Orpingtons and have a beautfiul cuckoo rooster with buff hens. We also have some standard layers (red, white and black) amongst them. In our first round of hatchings, we had 95% black/speckled black. Our second hatchings are occuring as I type and again seem to be 95% black/speckled black. Does a cuckoo rooster mean we will never get any buff chicks? Can anyone help me understand Orpington breeding colours?

The Chicken Calculator says black roo (I'm assuming your cuckoo is black) over buff hens = 100% black chicks. You should be seeing barring though. Even a single barred roo over solid hens should produce 50% barred offspring.
