As per my previous post I’m not too good at telling the gender of Orpingtons! :)
I’m rather new to chickens and I got these fertilized eggs from an adbeing told they were purebred blue and Lavender Orpington's.
I showed up to the lady’s house and boy oh boy it was an odd situation. I just got the eggs and left. I figured oh well let’s just see what they hatch out to be. These are the results. At least they appear blues and lavenders haha. Do they look like purebreds to you?
Also can you tell me the genders?
I do apologize as we are in the middle of a good days rain and some of them insisted on being outside today in the bush.

Agree with above for genders. Nice looking birds!
They could very well be purebred. They have the right leg coloring and body shape. You don’t say in your post how old they are?😊

Thank you for your help!
For educational purposes what are you looking for in Orpington’s to determine the genders?
thanks again!
Large bright red comb, & wattles. If they're old enough I'll look for saddles too.

Sometimes pullets will have a "Boy Face", but it's not that common. It's more common to see in some strains of hatchery Orpingtons you'll see boy "faced pullets."

My Orpington the confused the heck out of me.

She was an early bloomer. But didn't lay eggs until 6½ months.
I was convinced she was a late bloomer cockerel.

I agree with the above except for green green. I would say that is a pullet. Looks a lot like mine did at a young age. She waddled and combed before her brother. I'm basing it on body shape and posture.

Here is another photo
He/she is a feisty one. Hard to catch and a biter lol

Here are my last two of the clutches. I forgot to mention they hatched August 7th & 14th.
Based on your input I’m thinking “black black” is a pullet?
Thanks again. Greatly appreciate!
