Orpington Pics Black/Splash/Blue

Okay finally got the Buff cockeral out of the blue pen and with all the buff hens and pullets. Moved the Mottled in with two black pullets and the Splash Roo who weighs about 14 lb. in with blue pullets. That may change. Thought you all might like to see some pics I took today. You will see Blue Boy who almost has his tail feathers back after Molting.

Mottled. he has gone from Black to nearly white

Ha Ha. I think I can guess.
I am breeding the mottled to blacks to bring black back in the color. He is too white now but two months ago he only had a few white specks. My understanding of breeding the mottled is breed back to black to take out some white and breed mottled to mottled to lighten. At least that is what a master breeder of mOttled cochins told me.l Julie in Al
