I have one blue/black bantam orpington and it is 8 weeks old now and I still don't know if it is male or female. At first I thought male, since I can only hatch males here, lol. But it is not showing much of a comb and not much redness at all. Much like my cochin pullets in that regard. Tell me what you think And also, if it comes from a blue/black breeding but looks black, what do you call it? A blue or a black? Thanks for your help. Here are the pics.

That is what I was thinking too, just wanted to hear it from someone else. I know that if they are anything like my cochins, they get a comb and are quite red by 8 weeks. Thanks. I need a blue male now, anyone have one?

Quote:She's defiantly not a mottled, are there even mottled orpingtons? If she was mottled she would have white splotches on her.
