Orpington wings

I have a 9.5 week Orp cockerel that doesn’t hold his wings tight to his body. Is this normal behavior? Is there an underlying issue to be concerned with?

He might be hot. Is it hot or humid where you live?

Yes it’s hot. I’m in central Georgia. The pullet that is the same age keeps her wings tight to her body

Hard to get a decent picture. When I go in to get a good picture he is “alert” so he pulls everything right I think being hot makes sense.

Maybe he is lazy. It’s most noticeable when he is relaxed walking.


He is a pretty big boy for 9 weeks. He dwarfs my 7 week old Bielefelder cockerel but they are two different build types.
