Anyone have an emu or ostrich with a crooked/twisted neck? One of my ostrich chicks has an excessively deformed neck. I didn't notice it at first when he/she was a chick, but now that he's older it's extreme. It doesn't seem to effect his behavior, eating or drinking and he's normal in every way. Looking back at x-rays I had taken when he was just a couple weeks old, I believe I can see the deformity, so in this case I believe it was genetic and not caused by kind of accident.

I'm really hoping he'll continue to lead a normal healthy life and this won't impact him in any way as he matures. He's quickly approaching five feet now and in no way is his growth hindered in any way. He's right on target with my other ostrich. I'm going to be calling the breeder that I bought them from to ask him if he has other related birds with this defect and frankly I wish I had noticed it in the first place...
