Will small amounts of goat and horse feed be toxic for grown chickens & turkey poults? I have never used either before with my chickens or turkeys. If i took it and tried it - would they tolerate some mixed with their scratch as treats? Some friends are moving and are offering us 1/2 full bag each of goat and also horse/foal feed so they so not have to pack it. i suggested they donate it to the area SPCA just in case they could use it.
i have used 12 percent sweet feed as scratch. They love the molasses in it. But just use it as a treat only
I give a little cup (I think its about 2 cups) almost everyday to our chickens and never had a problem (Im using a horse feed) and they love it! The 2 cups is split between about 18 chickens so they aren't getting a ton but no one has ever got sick from it so I think its ok
