They are so adorable, but every time they flop over to go to sleep I have to stand there and watch to be sure they are all still breathing!

Mine too, I got my 32 ( plus one free unknown) buff orps last Monday and they are all doing great. I had a few to get pasty butt in the first couple of days but cleaned them up with warm water and a wash cloth then dried them with a blow dryer on low. They are growing so fast I don't think my brooder is going to be big enough, I think they might move to their new coop later this week.

I wish they weren't so skittish though! Everytime any of us walk into the room that has the brooder in it they freak out and run around squawking. Any tips to make them love us? [IMG]

Quote:Treats and lots of time just hanging out. Ours are a week old as well. When I clean the brooder we take them all out and sit on the floor with them and have treat time. Some are coming around and like to sit on us and a few are still skittish.

    Thanks for the advice!

What seems to be the treat of choice?
