Hello Everyone..
My husband and I are very New to the World of Chickens.
We have a homemade brooder with Eight Chicks in it. We have named them all
and they are now part of our family. Well the other night we found our quietest
chick (still acting fine eating and drinking fine) with a very large open wound down
her back. If her wings are closed you only see it due to discoloration of the wings..blood
but not a lot.. open the wings and it well looks as if she skinned it like you would if
you fell down and skinned your knee. They are about almost 4 weeks old. We have separated her and when we take out the others we let her come to, but we watch her..No one seems to be touching her or going after her.. She does love to under them when they are roosting on the side of the brooder so can it be maybe the nails of the other chicks..
Please help us she is such a sweet chick we hate to loose her.. Thank you so much.
