Just thought I'd post some pictures of our first flock of chickens ever! We got 12 assorted breeds on May 7th, and they are now 2 months old. They are so much fun, we're having a great time!

I started another thread in the Coop Design forum as well showing my construction of our coop. You can see it here:

    https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=4492643#p4492643

    For chickens, we have:

    - 1 buff orpington
    - 1 barred rock
    - 1 brown leghorn
    - 2 Rhode Island Reds
    - 2 silver laced wyandottes
    - 2 golden laced wyandottes
    - 2 light brahmas
    - 1 black australop

Here are some pics from when they were just a few days old ....

I was working like crazy to get the coop done so I could move them outside. This is when I first put them out to the coop!

And now here they are at 2 months old. We let them free-range when we're home. They love roaming the woods eating bugs, spiders, ants, moths - whatever they can chase down. I'm going to start building a run soon.

Beautiful flock! The coop will serve them well indeed. Your child is precious with the birds...kids and chickens just mix!

Very, very cute! Your birds look gorgeous.

I love the picture of the child's hand pointing at the little buff hen; the look on her face is so cute. "who, me?"
