Years ago one of our hens (Junebug) was found abandoned in the hen house just after hatching. We brought her in and raised her in our house untill she was old enough to go outside. Of course after being raised in our house she was confused when she started sleeping outside. It didn't take long before she figured out how to get out of the fenced yard and wait outside the door untill someone came out. We would just pick her up and carry her back to the yard and go about our buisness. This only went on for a couple days before she would NOT stay in the chicken yard. We got tired of constantly Putting her back in and just let her be. Well as time went on she mastered darting past our feet and into the house before we could shut the door, and as soon as she got in she would start exploring. We have always kept our dog bowls in the kitchen where the dogs could have easy access to fresh water and food, and of course she discovered them. Once she found the dog food she had no other joy than to get into the house and eat as much dog food as she could swollow before we grabbed her and took her outside. She was such a character, we laugh everytime her name is brought up. Haha!! H.
