My husband and I started with chickens in the fall and we got Americaunas babies. I love baby chicks but never really liked full grown chickens. Once they grew up and became my responsibility to care of, they became my new babies so to speak. Now they wait for me to come out in the morning. A few weeks ago we got more chicks and this time they are Isa Browns. I have been spending time with them every day to make them less timid and they have been becoming more friendly. Now my oldest daughter who is 10, can play with them too. My 2 girls, 5 and 10, enjoy the chickens and I believe they are learning some responsibility for animals by having them. The Americanas have been laying eggs and it it is great.
