I came out this morning and the first thing I did was check on my chicks...they were all peacefully sleeping as only babies can...then my phone made a loud noise and they all scattered, lol...what a bunch of chickens...

I dyed my eggs today... they are so much richer than the white eggs dyed... the different shades of the same colored eggs are because the eggs were different colors..

I just checked the shipping info & it looks like they won't arrive until Thursday...I'm not very happy about that. They left the shipping facility last night after 10pm. Hopefully they will all be okay!

I will definitely do that. I plan on being at the post office early, so that I can get them as quickly as possible. I will be driving to the Post office where they are first dropped off & mail is sorted, before it's brought to our local post office! I live in a rural area!

Be sure to open the box while you're there at the post office to see if they all made it. If you have some losses, you'll have someone else's word for it (just in case it comes to a problem with the hatchery replacing or refunding).

Thank you, I was planning on it. I'm also good friends with my mail carrier, so she will be there when I pick them up. I plan on arriving at the same time she gets there. It will be so sad if they don't all make it.

I received a very sweet surprise this morning! How can so much cuteness be contained in such a small box! I am so relieved that they arrived a day earlier than it was showing. We ordered 16 & received 17, so I have an unknown sweetheart! They all seem very alert, I believe that they have all had a drink & are enjoying a bite to eat! My husband will be making one more screen for the top! I turned off the light to get a better picture & the volume immediately went up...lol! I love love love baby chicks! Let the journey begin!!!

Yay, they all made it (plus 1) and a day early at that! I can see a lot of 'chick tv' in your near future

The light fixtures that I have are not rated for 250W. So my husband scrounged up some pieces and parts, pots & pans and made one that won't be scary!

I finally found the piece of Hardware Cloth that I knew I had somewhere. I cut out a section of the foamboard so that I would have a window down below. I can slide it open so that I can stick my hand in with some food in it at their level! My husband is finishing up the other section of screen for the top!

Day 2! It's amazing how fast they start to feather out! I try to hand feed them every hour, some are more interested than others! Loving this and having so much fun!
