We got our new muscovies yesterday, from HatTrickSilkies in PA. My husband picked them up on his way home from a hunting trip. They are so beautiful! We're in love with them already.

We got a year old chocolate duck and a 4 month old lavender drake. We have tentatively named them Mocha and Mr. Smartypants. (We'll see if those names stick.)

Here are some photos I took this evening.

They've adjusted to the change of residence well. They've been eating, drinking, went in the duckhouse on their own this evening. I still need to sink their bathing pool in the ground. In the meantime, they're cheerfully bathing in their drinking water container! [IMG]

I'm so looking forward to ducklings in the spring!

    Thanks, everyone.

Yes, the lavender is a beautiful color. Mr. Smartypants is one handsome fella. He's also quite friendly. He reminds me of a big blue dog. I had read that male muscovies hiss, but to me it sounds like a dog panting. So, he follows me around, panting like a dog. It's so funny!
