Our "New" Property

We bought 5.5 acres of land. It came with an old barn with two stalls. Each stall is 12'x12'. There are fence posts making a perimeter that is 125'x50'.

Thinking about turning one of those stalls into the space for 24 hens and 2 roosters. Attaching some pics. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I would love to have something like that to work with.

First thing would be to ensure that the structure is absolutely sound, that the roof doesn't leak, and that there aren't any drainage problems channeling groundwater into the building.

You can let your climate determine how much wall you need to build and how much can just be wire (you can add your general location to your profile to get targeted advice). Predator-proofing will be important. Is it already set up for electric fence?

Yes electric fence is already set up. Just need to install the fencing itself.

Great tips. I'll look into all of those. Structure is sound. I will do some roof work just to be sure. The sides are 8 feet, so I think I'll wire above that.
