While I was out doing the coop chores today, a couple of the Red Stars decided to explore the shoveled path around the coop. Strollin' in the snow: Hmm, what's in here? Oh, Mom spilled some sunflower seed! Hey! You can't have them all!
I have read about so many chickens being afraid of the snow! You must have some brave girls! Cute pics, thanks for sharing!
My hens were doing that today when I went to shovel out the outdoor enclosure. I had to stop them tho, because somebody decided to buy the toxic ice melt!
Quote:Oh, yeah! If they are anything like mine, they would chow down on the stuff, too! LOL All these paths are shoveled out in back of the house so we can get to the coop, run and shed. No ice melt on them at all.
We have about 20-24" in spots in the yard. Plowed and snowblowered drifts are higher. I think we've had enough for one winter!
