Nope don't feel bad for owner, he just left them. Should have put free ad on CL.

That is ridiculous. The owner knew when he was running out of feed. Should have called a shelter or listed for free if he knew he would not be able to provide for the animals. Starvation is a horrible way to die. Being used for meat would have been a more humane way to go.

  4. I don't see how he could be charged with animal cruelty, since those laws typically exempt poultry.

Probably spent all his money on bigger cages and exercise equipment.

It is sad but I fail to see how the remaining 2/3 were starving with a 1/3 dead ones to eat, allbeit gross but you leave a dead chicken in a pen the others will eat it.

I feel so bad for the hens. The owner, not so much. How could he stand by and watch them die?? Inhumane, to say the very least. Like was stated above, give them away, put them on craigslist, etc. [IMG]

WHY would you just let your chickens starve? What a SICK person.. Only a very, very sick person would do that.
He could of at LEAST culled them and not let them suffer..... just SICK!
I hope they nail him good.

[IMG] That's horrible! The farm owner really shouldn't have let them suffer like that; I hope they teach him a lesson.
