Overmated hen, is there help?

We have 16 hens (9 mature) and 1 roo. He seems to have his preferred girls and they are losing the feathers on their backs because of his affections... Anything I can do to stop him from mating them? He is 15 months old. Many Thanks for your help.

We made a bachelor pad for our 2 roosters, they were just love sick for our hens. You can also try getting some hen saddles.

That's so aggravating when the poor girls are getting bare backs from roos "affections" as you tastefully put it. A bachelor pad sounds good to me, at least for a few weeks until the hens can recoup a little. Once your other hens are mature, the bare back situation should alleviate itself.
