We have been watching a goose with six eggs (and one duck egg). Storm last night, lake level rose. Checked on the nest this a.m. One chic hatched, mother on nest but eggs resting in water. Put down a bed of wood shavings next to nest, moved eggs with a small net. Mother wouldn't return.
Can the eggs be saved? We moved them to a vented cooler with a small bulb. Bulb fell and broke one egg, green rotten inside. Due to the new chic this morning, we have hope the others aren't duds and can be saved.
What should we do? Please help with info asap. Thanks!
