    I hurt all over.

Bleck I'm sick. Fever 101.6, achy, dizzy, five minutes ago I was freezing and now I am about explode with heat. My sister has the same thing. The worst part is that it could all have been prevented.

We were babysitting for a function of my Moms and the mother of the two kids we watched diddn't tell us till she picked them up that they had been sick the day before and that the little boy was still a little warm.

Now I can't work today or ride my horse or do anything!

    I hate being sick. [IMG]

I don't know about where you are but the way the weather is here, 25 all day then 68 the next , then back down to 30 is really making a lot of people sick. Or keeping them that way.
Hope you're feeling better soon. Keep up the fluids.
one mistake a lot of people make when they are working outside in the cold is to take off layers when they start to sweat. Keep them on! finish what you're doing, let your body cool down a bit, THEN take off a layer if you have to. Granted, nowadays we know you need a virus or germ to get the flu or a cold, but sudden temp changes will lower your body's resistance and make it easier to get sick.
    AND keep those feet warm!!!

Weather doesn't make you sick. Staying indoors among many people because it's cold or lousy out aids in sharing germs, but getting chilled isn't going to make anyone sick. Layering up when you're going to be outside is done precisely so you can peel off layers as you warm up! Clean, fresh and yes, even cold air is far better for you than being cooped up with others, indoors, all breathing in the same germs.

To clarify what I meant about the layers:

Yes,we wear layers so we can take them off as the surroundings get warmer, but if you feel overheated because you are sweating, it's best to let your body cool down a bit, first (then take it off if you still need to) rather than taking off a layer or 2 while you are still sweating (damp) because it will chill you faster and you'll wind up putting the layers back on. If you can't take a break and have to keep working, then make sure you have that jacket handy for as soon as you stop. It puts a lot of stress on your system to keep trying to regulate temp extremes. It takes more energy for the body to get the temp back up (shivering) than to lower it.(sweating)

And I do agree: Fresh air, no matter what temp is better than being cooped up with a bunch of sick people! I try to have a couple of windows open at least for a while everyday, to let some fresh air in. They get mad at me at work for propping a door open for a few minutes, but it gets rid of the stale air.

I love drugs, I am feeling much better. I am still dizzy/light headed everytime I get up but my body temps aren't fluctuating so much any more. [IMG]
