I've never seen the oyster shell product that is given to egg laying hens.
I have access to regular oyster shells and was thinking of smashing up
the shells to give to my hens. How fine is the commercially available
shell one would purchase at the feed store? Is it like a powder...
just small pieces? Thanks very much for the suggestions.

Small pebble like chunks. My birds sort through it though and eat the smaller ones first.
