Oyster shells

    Can you use oyster shells with 3 month old silkies?

    I wouldn't. First of all, they probably wouldn't really eat them because their non-laying bodies aren't telling them to try and get more calcium. Second, if they do eat them, it's not good for them. They shouldn't really be eating more calcium than what is in their grower feed--too much can damage kidneys and cause bone problems.
