Packing peanuts... Barred rocks? Females?

    Maybe but they're more likely to be black sex link cockerels if they're packing peanuts.

    Never had one so they have spots to.
    My pullet was pitch black.

    Yes, that is how makes and females are differentiated in black sex links... males have a head spot as they inherit barring from the hen used in the cross that creates them
