I tried to explain what packing peanuts are to a friend at work after I showed her a picture of my new chicks. I got a bunch of Red Star males in my order, which are the yellow chicks in the picture below.

I told her that they were put in the box to keep the other chicks warm. Today she sent me these drawings that she did about packing peanuts:

They are so cute but they make me a little sad.

This is one of the reasons why I order with small order policies. I can't bare to finish any of my babies off myself, someone else can do it.

Too cute and true! I have 6 packing peanuts and I am waffling on what to do with I try my hand at meat birds? Do I give them away (for others to probably eat?). I can't have roosters where I live... wah.

*SIGH* That was so cute. [IMG] I just got 9 little RIR peanuts. I thought I could raise them for meat. Well, I pawned them off on my mother who pawned them off on someone else. I just sat and held them and kept asking them "but why are you so cute and sweet?????"
