I built a Pigeon loft over the weekend and would like to paint it so it will look nice and mainly preventing the wood from rotting . What color should I paint it ? Basically is there colors to avoid that Pigeons don't like or will be scared of ? Is there a "correct color" ? I would like to paint the inside as well. If it makes a difference I will be keeping all white Pigeons. Thanks

Up to you...

I would avoid white or light colours as they will look dirty very quickly.

Pigeons prefer dark colours because they like to roost and nest in caves and dark places.. so it makes they feel more secure and relaxed.

I had a tip from another pigeon fancier that if you paint each nest box with a different colour front it helps the pigeons know which one is theirs.. stops they flying into the wrong box.. and reduced a lot of fighting and squabbles (as they are not flying into the wrong box and trying to kick each other out).
