This barnevelder pullet is about 9 months old. She’s been molting, with the feathers on her head the most obvious. Eating and drinking fine, and fiesty enough to boss around my adolescent cockerel. Is this a normal color for molting? Should I worry about something else?
One picture has her with my black Australorp to compare comb colors.

I'm glad she is acting well and some paleness and shrinking of the comb is normal during molting and in the winter with hens who are off lay, but, that being said, your girl looks dehydrated and almost blue in the second pic. She could just be feeling the cold, but it doesn't hurt to look over everybody for signs of parasites including checking the roost bars at night for mites. Also monitor her poop for a couple day as best you can to make sure it is normal.

Some extra protein and poultry vitamins are good during molt.
