    Hi all,

I have a pair of Royal Palms that are 8 mos old. I've just got them about a month + 1/2 ago. They live with 7 chickens peacefully. About a week ago I noticed the palm hen started moving around the chicken eggs a little bit. My hens lay in several spot in the coop. Now in the last 3 days (I left a camera in the coop) she has taken over one nesting spot and is moving all the eggs from the different spots and is sitting on them. She hasn't broken any eggs and I have to actually lift her to get her off my egg gold. She won't "Lego my eggo" lol.

I'm actually curious if she is just getting her motherly instincts on in preparation for the upcoming spring breeding although Gravy the Tom is ready anytime or is she starting to get broody and needs some intervention. I guess its possible they have mated already but she is not in lay yet. She has been peaceful now but I am worried she'll start pecking and getting protective as I plan to let her hatch out but I will raise the poults elsewhere away from the chickens.

Thanks for any and all help.

Well yesterday we found our first Turkey egg. Guess that's why she has been broody. Didn't expect her to stay laying in winter though.
