I have a 7 wk old cochin banty and part of one of her fet (2 toes and part of inside of foot) is greenish blue. She doesnt act like it hurts-is this genetic/normal coloring? The rest of her leg/foot coloring is yellow. I never noticed this before (which with the feathering isnt surprising) so not sure if this is normal?

I have several chicks/ chickens that have different colors in their legs....the chicks are mutts, so that's my thought.

VioletandBrodie: not that I can think of-unless it would be grass stains?
wbruder17: that may be-as these could very well be mixed-just odd looking and worriesome

Can you post a pic? As that may cross out a few things. My bird's feet look normal, just different colored skin...like patches on a dogs skin, so its not worrying...but perhaps yours looks like a disease.

I had a welsummer that had a foot like that. When I first saw it when she was a chick I thought it was a bruise. Don't know what causes that. [IMG]

I have a SLW that has an area like that on her leg. Almost looks like a tatooed area. I think it was there from the time she was a chick or showed up right after that, so I haven't really worried about it to much. When she was younger, it was a great way to tell her and the other SLW apart!
