Have any of you hatched eggs from your single female turkey? I have one hen, and I am curious to try. I am just waiting on eggs!

If you have done this, how was your hatch rate? I've heard fertility is about 50% and all resulting offspring are male. It would be nice to have a boy around again. They're my favorites.

I think it occurs in several varieties. I know it occurs in Beltsville Small Whites, because I knew a lady who'd done it, and I found information on a study done on the same.

I currently have a wild turkey female, and have no idea if it will work or not. I can't find a lot of information.

It is most known in the Beltsville Small White turkey and one of the things they were researching at the USDA facility in Ames, Iowa when the flock was there. When we had BSW's I hatched some from all hens but the fertility was not anywhere near 50%, it was much much lower.
