I bought a rooster at auction tonight that I am 'pretty sure' is a partridge. I really hope he is, cause I've been looking for one for a while now. Does anyone have a good pic of one for me?

Ah, well, I just got the bright idea [IMG] to look on feathersite, and he appears to be more like a brown-red [IMG]

Have you got a pic of him? Brown red will have a black wing triangle, partridge will have a reddish wing triangle. Males of a few different colours look similar.

This guy basically looks like a birchen, kind of. He only has red on his neck (hackles?) and a little bit on his wings. No red saddle feathers at all. I don't have a pic now, but I can get one tomorrow [IMG]

I finally got some pics of him uploaded, I don't think he's a partridge, but what color do you think he is?

Brown-red ought to have red saddle hackles.

Shelley, could you possibly get a picture of its side or over him...so you can see his coloring better?

Is it possible that he is a cross of either a partridge or brown-red over a black, as he doesn't look quite right for either variety.
