Partridge cochin X splash cochin

So a friend of mine wanted me to hatch a dozen eggs from her partridge cochins roo and the hens are splash, black and blue.

I was wondering what color to expect from the splash X Partridge mix?

About the same you'd get from Splash x Buff - You'll get 100% blue chicks with some brown pencilling, smudging, etc on the bodies, usually just in the neck, but it varies. Some will have brown extending into the chest and wings too.

Hmm... I'm interested to see how it all turns out. i think is trying to get the lemon blue coloring. But she heard somewhere that if you can't get a brown red then a partridge will work too. But I didn't thing that was the case.

Yes, they will indeed look very similar to Lemon Blues. A lot of people sell such crosses that way too.

But it's not actually the true lemon blue coloring, not that there is a standard for that color, but brown red would have to be in the mix over a blue?
