This is a partridge Cochin right? Any clues on the sex. She (hopefully) is 8 weeks. Her name is kiweed.

I'm sorry, but I don't think so. Yours looks more like a Brahma mix. She should have more feathering on the legs if she were a cochin. Could be a Cochin mix too, kinda hard to tell with the pic. I really think it's a brahma mix though.

    The color looks golden laced.

We got her From a guy who ordered 100 birds from mt healthy. There were brahmas, amberlinks, black stars, and slw. He had no idea what this one was and said it must have been a throw in. Do the big hatcheries have mixes? Or just purebred birds?

I do believe hatcheries have mixed breeds and mixed colors once in a while. I'm positive my Cochin is pure, but a color mix.

Yours looks like a partridge golden laced mixed? Mixed breed or color for sure. It does look like a brahma. I'm pretty sure it's a female too. [IMG]

It says on Mt Healthy's website that they carry light, dark and buff brahma's. I wonder if they had an oopsie and a dark and buff got together?

Yes I think the hatchery had an oopsie, and gave away the resulting chicks for free. What a cutie!
