Hello!
I am a new chicken owner. I purchased a black sex-link and 2 isa browns from Rural King and 2 white leghorns from a local feed store all within the same day. I have had the chicks for one week today and all of them have almost doubled in size except for one isa brown chick. She constantly has pasty butt, only her, I clean around her vent every single day. She hasnt grown much at all and her belly area feels harder than the others. Otherwise, she seems perfectly healthy. The other chicks arent picking on her and shes eating and drinking just fine. She is also just as active as the others. Should I be worried? Is there anything else I can do for her?
Thanks!

Welcome to BYC. Some feed store chicks may have shipping stress, or pasty butt, and can be ignored. About all I know to do is to get the chick drinking often by dipping it’s beak, and giving some Poultry NutriDrench or another electrolyte. Try feeding some wet chick feed and some egg yolk. When you say her belly is hard, do you mean her lower belly between her legs? That sounds like possible constipation. You can give her a few drops of mineral, olive, or coconut oil orally, and lubricate her little vent with a QTip and oil or vaseline.

It's not quite between her legs, it's kind of below her vent, where her "bellybutton" is. Thank you for the advice !

Okay, so this morning, it looks like the chicks vent is prolapsed? But how does that happen to a premature chick? Idk 🥺
