Hi guys,
I hatched my chicks in an incubator and swapped eggs from under my broody hen with 8 chicks. She is a great momma, however she is EXTREMELY protective. I have them in a big brooder in my garage and I noticed a few looked like they are getting pasty butt. I was able to clean 2 of them, but the other is staying too close to momma for me to grab safely. The hen trampled one of the chicks when I reached in and tried a little more aggressively (it's still alive just a little wobbly). What should I do? Will the hen take care of their butts? Should I remove the hen from the brooder since she is being aggressive? I love watching her teach them and cuddle with them, but I also need them healthy....
