Pasty butt or umbilical cord

my chicks hatched Tuesday may 5th and are two days old. I found this on laying on its side and lethargic. I read about pasty butt and so I washed his bum because it looked like dry poop. But he also has a big umbilical cord. That was irritated when I washed it. I think I cleared his bum but not sure. Attached is a pic. Anyone can confirm with me what's going on. It's my first set of chicks. Also should I separate him since he has a bit of blood at the cord

Definitely separate if you can - that doesn't look high enough to be pasty butt, but umbilical cord like you thought. How's it look today?
