Hello, we are proud new chick parents... I have a chick that had a pretty awful case of pasty butt, I had an awful time cleaning her up it was all dried into the fuzz under her vent. I got as much as I could off on put some Neosporin around the vent area. A couple hours later I went to check on her and she or other chicks had pulled the fuzz off so she has a very red painful looking area under her vent. I reapplied Neosporin but now I am worried about the area. Did I do something wrong and will she be ok or will she always have that bald spot there?

If your chicks are still very young, you can switch your heat lamp bulb to a red-tinted one. That will make the bare area on the chick's behind less noticeable to the other chicks in the batch and decrease the likelihood of further pecking. Sometimes the red ones have a higher wattage so be sure your fixture can handle it. A chick's fuzz falls out as its feathers come in so I wouldn't worry about a permanent bald spot developing.
