Hello im posting some pics of my chicks this year...is it still too young for the pied one to be identified as to what sex it will be? same goes to my little cameo...i know the whites i wont be able to tell till maybe next year sometime. thanks for the help!

Also at what age would you say is safe to put them in with my 2.5 year old white pair?

Quote:When my pair were two I put their eggs under a chicken hen. Only one hatched, and since I didn't want a lonely chick I left it in with the hen for the summer. Last fall when it started getting cold, I put the chicken and the baby pea in with the adult peas and they didn't seem to care. They all spent the winter together, then this past spring I worked the chicken back into the flock.

If pen is a good size, you can try now, but watch them ,most will be ok , but depends on your pair, even the peahen may attack them, good thing breeding season has come to a end, lot less fighting.
