peacock's and chickens

Anyone have any experience with peacocks comingling with chickens? There has been a peacock hanging around our house for the past 1 1/2 years and is living in the wild. When our 6 hens and 1 banty roo are free grazing, the peacock follows them around. The roo keeps his distance but the others dont seem to be phased much, though they kind of run up and get in his face a little. The peacock is calm, but do I need to worry?

I don't think so, but there is actually another thread about this happening right now, so you may get some info from that one.

I have seen chickens and peacocks kept together, but have never done it and don't know what issues, if any, would arise. Some are saying the peacocks carry a parasite that could cause trouble with chicken flocks. But it also sounds like a lot of people do it with no issues.

Find the other thread, and follow it. I don't remember what it's under, just caught it in the recent posts this morning.

The other way around- some chickens can carry parasites/diseases harmful to peafowl.

I have some peafowl loose with my chickens.. no problems.
