We have two peafowls....for the past year they have always gone into the coop (ok once they slept in a tree) but lately they have found a new home on our roof. Is this normal for the spring and summer? And will they return to the coop in the fall?

I have a pair of peas that are penned with a house for them to sleep. Since it got warmer the male refuses to go in to sleep and sleeps out on a roost in the pen, the female still goes in the house to sleep. I would hope that in bad weather or when the chill comes back it would prompt him to go back in. Thought that maybe it could be partially the weather and part because it is mating season and he is feeling macho!

Weather and owls are why we have covered roosts outside.
