My birds LOVE them, but they are a little fatty, use as a treat.

The only nut I would be worried about is macadamias. Only because they can cause paralysis in some species.

My hens get peanuts ALL the time though. I even cover pine cones in peanut butter and stick scratch to it for a hanging treat!

I have read that though peanuts can be part of the bird's diet, that it should not be more than 5% of the diet. I would take that as yes you can feed peanuts to your birds, but in moderation (like most things).

Peanuts are fine. Some brands of feed use them. Make sure they are not salted, also that they do not replace their feed, which is formulated to be a balanced diet.

Mine love peanuts. I give them as a treat once or twice a week. I've never had other nuts to give them.

My chickens eat tiny amounts of unsalted peanuts every day in their mix. I have fed other nuts too that were a little too old and stale for us. Yes just watch they aren't salty. I have soaked and washed salty nuts for them before (the salty ones I only used as a treat just in case even though they were washed).
