    Hello--

Quick question: Can a bantam rooster be beneath a hen in the pecking order?

I have a dark brahma cockerel bantam (3.5 months old) in a flock with dominiques of the same age. A lot of the hens seem to be above him in the pecking order as he is submissive when they peck him in a "play fight." I should also note that there is a dominique cockerel in the flock who is the alpha male.

    Thanks!

Yes definitely! I have had even standard size roosters be under hens in a pecking order. As long as the bantam is not being abused by the hens, I wouldn't worry about it.

    Yes!

My formal Roo was way under the pecking order, I was surprised when he wasn't the big Roo.
