Pecking Order.

i want to introduce new chickens to the coop. the current chickens are 8 weeks old. does any one have any advise as to how old the new chickens should be to be accepted. or what i should do so that things go smoothly.

I would wait until the new chickies are about the same size as your old chickens. That way they can defend themselves better.

Do you can have some kind of coop or animal carrier in your own coop or run, with some kind of fencing to keep them separate? That way they can see each other, but not touch each other.

After a couple of weeks, you could put them into the coop, at night. Keep an eye on them during the day for a week or so. There will be a pecking order behaviors taking place. It takes time, but everyone should start getting along.
