Pedialyte

    can you give 4 wk. old chicks Pedialyte ?
    I have a chick that has gotten weak overnight, don't know what to do.

    Yes, pedialyte is a good choice if you don't keep powdered electrolytes on hand.

    Karo can be given a few drops at a time. 1 day - about four weeks stick with Karo light. Karo dark is safe for older chicks.

    Poly-vi-sol a children's vitamin twice a day is useful - the NO IRON kind.

    Cooked egg is also useful.

    Don't use raw honey - bad bacteria.

    Don't use sugar water - often causes pasting and diarrhea.

    Make sure it is unflavored Pedialyte. What was the environment of the chicks?
