Pekin Bantam Thread? (Chicken)

    Is there a Pekin thread? Like the ones for Marans and Cochins. I’ve been searching but can’t find anything.

    girls.JPG I'd appreciate if someone explained the terminology. I'm an American living in Britain and I thought cochins were the American term for pekins.

    I believe that technically cochin and Pekin bantams are a different breed. Pekin only come in Bantam size whereas cochin also come in large fowl size.
    I have no idea if there is already a Pekin Bantam thread though.

    In the UK they are different breeds. The Pekin is a true bantam and it’s main feature that sets it apart from the Cochin bantam is the tilt. Not sure about the States.

    It’s a forward tilt, the head should be lower than the tail. That’s just the standard though, I know many backyard breeders don’t bother with sticking to it.
