When I went out to feed my birds this morning I found one of my female peking ducks deceased on her nest. No injuries, illness, and she has been just healthy as the others. Has anyone ever had this happen before? Do you think the male did it? So saddened by this, we love our birds.

Thanks a bunch
Lisa

Lisa the only way to be really sure is a necropsy, those can be done by some ag colleges.

Very sad for your loss. Shelly went quickly and quietly one morning. I can identify. It still aches.

Sorry about your loss. Could she have been trying to lay an egg? Sometimes they die from being egg bound.

I'm sorry, ducks being prey animals means they often hide illness and injury well. Sadly, you may not know unless you have a necropsy done as Amiga said. It's frustrating, i know.
