I have had no luck hatching ducks in my incubator, but i have a silkie hen that broods constantly. stuck Three pekin eggs under her and my first duck was dry and healthy under her Tuesday. Last night when i checked the two eggs left under her. One had pipped and you could here peeping. This evening that chick is entirely out of shell (small amount of shell still attached to him) and peeping but looks exhausted and bedraggled. He is still damp and laying under the hen. Is that normal?

Totally normal! Hatching out of an egg is hard work!

Lil dude deserves a nap, and a snuggle with a fluffy butt (even it it is a surrogate fluffy butt)
