Pekins Personality

Can anyone tell me the temperament of Pekin ducks? Do they easily fly? I want a duck to keep a Mallard company but I'd like a little variety. I have a 2 year old son, so I don't need anything aggressive. All the store near us carries is Pekins and Mallards. Any thoughts?

I have one pekin and he doesn't fly.. he is good natured and lives with my mallards and goose

Mine seem pleasant enough. They never fly, and are more timid than aggressive. They have certainly never been aggressive with a person. My older drake has taken issue with a young drake a couple of times, but nothing serious.

My pekin was quite aggressive, but only when he was held. When he was by himself, he kept to himself.
